This memo instructs the Secretary of the Treasury to evaluate processes of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), which identifies threats to the the financial stability of the US.

Presidential Executive Order on Identifying and Reducing Tax Regulatory Burdens

This Order directs the Secretary of the Treasury to review tax burdens imposed on individuals and businesses. The Secretary shall recommend actions to mitigate the burdens.

Presidential Memorandum for the Secretary of the Treasury

The Orderly Liquidation Authority (OLA) may initiate the liquidation of financial companies in danger of default, under certain circumstances, to mitigate adverse impacts on the financial stability of the US. The Orderly Liquidation Fund (OLF) may use taxpayer funds to carry out OLA liquidations. This Memo instructs the Secretary of the Treasury to review the OLA and make recommendations for improvement.

Presidential Executive Order on Buy American and Hire American

This document orders agencies to assess, enforce, and implement Buy American Laws, which promote the purchase of American-produced goods or materials. Agencies also must comply with Hire American Laws by enforcing the Immigration and Nationality Act. The order requires select agencies to recommend reforms to the H-1B visa issuance process.

Presidential Executive Order Regarding the Omnibus Report on Significant Trade Deficits

This Order addresses "chronic trade deficits and the unfair and discriminatory trade practices" of some international trade partners, and requires the Secretary of Commerce and the US Trade Representative to identify those trade deficits.

Presidential Executive Order on Providing an Order of Succession within the Department of Justice

This Order establishes an order of succession in the case that Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General, and Associate Attorney General are unable to perform the functions and duties of the office of Attorney General.

Presidential Executive Order on Establishing Enhanced Collection and Enforcement of Antidumping and Countervailing Duties and Violations of Trade and Customs Laws

This document promotes the administration of US customs and trade laws by establishing enhanced measures to collect duties and identify trade violations.

Presidential Memorandum on the Delegation of Authority Under the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017


Trump delegated some Presidential functions and authorities to the Secretary of State, under section 3132 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017, which relates to the planning of “verification and monitoring of the proliferation of nuclear weapons and fissile material.”

Day Forty-Six: March 6

Executive Order Protecting The Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States

This Order imposes "a temporary pause on the entry of nationals from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen, subject to categorical exceptions and case-by-case waivers." Significantly, admissions for nationals of Iraq are permitted, but "should be subjected to additional scrutiny to determine if applicants have connections with ISIS or other terrorist organizations, or otherwise pose a risk to either national security or public safety."

Memorandum for the Secretary of State, the Attorney General, the Secretary of Homeland Security

This Memo instructs the implementation of heightened screening of visa applications, as well as the enforcement of all laws for entry into the US. The Memo also orders data be collected by federal agencies and made transparent for US citizens regarding immigration and homeland security.
